a story my grandad used to tell

2025

In this work, the house of my grandparents is used as an analogy to refer to identity as the performance of forgotten experiences; the aspect of the house is the result of the lives it has witnessed, as our identity is the crystallization of the experiences we no longer remember. A series of videos are displayed in an existing architecture creating a spatial collage of the house. Transferring the geography of the images to the space where they are displayed speaks to the dynamics of migration and the displacement of identities. The videos capture reflections and light moving in these spaces making reference to the intangible of the experiences they contain.
